Emersyn's 20 Month Update

Fancy Miss E turned 20 months at the beginning of this month!
Our sweet girl is exploding with personality & has turned into quite the little daredevil.
We love her spunk & her sass along with her super sweetness.

Age: 20 months

Stats: Has to be pushing 30 lbs, she is getting hard to hold for long periods of time!

Favorite Foods: This kid is all about sweets... cookies, chocolate, candy, cake... you name it, she'll slam it down! She does love fruits & veggies still as well as turkey, cheese, yogurt, applesauce, pizza, potatoes, and many other things! Good eater!

Words:
SO. MANY. WORDS. have just been flowing out of this girl's mouth! Her vocabulary is skyrocketing and I am stunned sometimes at the things she says. Some recent ones are:
-chocolate
-can say all her fave Disney characters: Pluto, Goofy, Minnie, Daisy, Donald, & Mickey :)
-bubble
-highchair
-walk
-necklace
-ring
... and so, so many more!

Activities
We just got a zoo pass so we are loving our zoo trips, going to play at the parks, watching our current fave movie Toy Story, going to story time at the library, and playing at open gym on rainy days.

Favorite Things: She loves anything "fancy" like necklaces & bracelets, loves to take care of her baby and her stuffed puppy, she looooves shoes (especially putting them on), and she's starting to want to pick out what she wants to wear. Sounds like a little girl to me! ;)

Signature Moves: Little Miss Friendly still introduces herself to everyone and loves to shout HI at any person she sees. She can't stand riding in the cart/stroller for long so we are starting to let her walk while holding our hand for longer periods of time at places.... but she prefers sitting in the cart basket and squeezing/biting/throwing everything inside ;) She also has to go down the slide backwards and on her tummy, such a daredevil!

Mom's Proudest Moment: Listening to her start to speak so much more clearly and in 2-3 word phrases. It's so amazing how everything I am teaching her is just absorbing in her little brain so quickly!

Dad's Proudest Moment: Daddy just loves this girl so much. She's becoming such a daddy's girl and is attached to his hip. He is an amazing girl dad, despite growing up with all boys! I love to watch their relationship unfold!

I'm starting to think about this girl's second birthday and I can't even believe it!
The days can be long, but the years sure are short.
This girl may look just like her dad, but she sure has her momma's personality...
and I just love it!

Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Mother's Day is already almost here!
*Cough* It's on Sunday *cough*.... You're welcome for the reminder ;) #hubbyihopeyoureadthis

If you need a last minute gift idea,
here are a few of my personal favorite things that I know your momma would love!

1. KitchenAid Mixer - What mom wouldn't want this lovely little machine? I happen to be quite fond of this copper color. This is a timeless item that she will use forever! I guarantee your mom will hug you if you buy her this ;)
2. Capri Blue Volcano candle - This is the yummiest smelling candle on earth. It's just a good, clean smell- nothing flowery or fruity or overwhelming... which I love! You can burn it for hours and your house will smell delightful. Not to mention, the jar is pretty!
3. Carry On Warrior Book - Mommas, read. this. book. Like now. A friend recommended this book to me (thanks Allye!) and I can say it is life changing. Glennon Doyle Melton does an amazing job detailing the everyday adventures of motherhood: the good, the bad, and the messy. I want every mom in my life to read this book now... it's just that good!
4. Converse All-Star Shoes - These shoes are just plain classic. I love the white ones the best since you can wear them with basically anything. They would be the perfect thing to add to your mom uniform!
5. Gold Stapler - For those of you that have a home office like me or for those of you that have a strong affinity for beautiful office supplies (also like me), this is a must. I have a gold addiction these days & this pretty little thing is both useful and fancy for your mom's desk.
6. Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow Stick - Can't say enough about this eyeshadow. It glides on easy, I can put it on in like 2.5 seconds, and it stays on all. day. What more could you want out of your makeup?! As us mamas know, time is precious when you're getting ready and this stick does the trick when it comes to getting glammed up fast. My favorite color is Sand Dune but I want to try some of the other colors ASAP!
7. Emily Ley Simplified Planner - This. Oh my, ladies. I basically am drooling over my Simplified Planner every second of everyday. As previously mentioned, I love pretty office supplies. But this planner goes beyond pretty. It is as functional as it is fabulous! My little type-A heart rejoices at the page design (it even has a spot for what's for dinner tonight!), the special little pocket in the cover to put all your receipts/notes/etc, & I just adore that every day has a color (insert comment about how dorky I am here). I got the Happy Stripe cover for myself, but I completely swoon over the two covers as well. Some versions are sold out, but my Happy Stripe is still available or more editions become available in September! This is the gift that keeps on giving all year long!

What's on your momma's wish list this year?
Be sure to treat the mom in your life to something special!

Xoxo,
D
